The South African CV & Job-Search System
Sixteen editable files that take you from a blank page to a tracked application. Built to reduce the formatting problems that stop software reading a CV correctly: one column, no tables, no text boxes, checked inside every file.
R 149 once, not monthly
A CV writing service in South Africa charges roughly R300 to R3,300 to write one CV, once. This is R149 for the sixteen editable files themselves, yours to re-use for every job, with no account and nothing monthly.

- Pay once. There is no subscription and nothing to renew.
- You do not need to buy Microsoft Word. Google Docs and LibreOffice both open these files, and both are free.
- Best done on a computer. The guides and the tracker read fine on a phone, but editing a CV properly needs a bigger screen. If a phone is all you have, send the files to Google Drive and edit them there.
- If a file will not open, you get your money back.
What you actually do
- Pick one of the two CV designs. If you are not sure, pick Clean Minimal.
- Type your own details over the example. The wording is already written for you.
- Export it in whatever format the employer or the application portal asks for. Usually PDF, sometimes Word. That is the whole job.
You do not have to read the 54 pages of guides to use this. They are there for the moment you get stuck on one line and want a worked example.

Still deciding? The questions page answers what most people ask before paying.
What we counted inside the six Word documents.
-
0
tables
A table splits the page into cells that can be read out of order.
-
0
text boxes
Nothing floats outside the main body of the document.
-
1
column
One column means the file stores the text in a single, top-to-bottom order.
-
A4
21.0 × 29.7cm
With 2.54cm margins on all four sides, in every file.
Counted in the files you receive, not estimated. This describes how the documents are built. It is not a claim about any particular employer's software, and no template can promise that.
Read both CVs before you pay.
This is the actual text inside the two Word files, not a picture of it. The names, employers and phone numbers are demo placeholders that ship inside the files, there for you to type over. Same structure in both: one column, standard headings, contact details in the body of the document. What changes is the typography.
Both documents are set in Calibri, and the Clean Minimal headings in Georgia. If the machine you open them on does not have those fonts it substitutes the nearest match and the spacing can move a little. The structure does not change, and the structure is the part that matters.
Sixteen files, and what each one is for.
Six A4 Word documents you can edit, nine PDF guides totalling 54 pages, and one application tracker. Every page count below was read off the actual file.

The number on each row is its file number in the download, so the list matches your folder. The documents open in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice, and you do not need to buy Microsoft Word.
Same content. Same order on the page. Different document.
Software reads a CV in the order the file stores it, not the order your eye sees it. Put your work history beside a sidebar and the two columns interleave. Watch the numbers.

What the software passes on:
- Key Skills
- Professional Summary
- Education

- References
- Achievements
Your summary now arrives after your skills, and your experience after your education. Nothing was deleted. It was reordered.

A single column has one reading order, so the sections cannot interleave the way they did above.
This is a simplified illustration of reading order, not a capture of one specific employer's software. What we can state about our own files is in the checks below.
The rules are public. So are our numbers.
MIT and UC Berkeley publish what a CV must avoid. We opened all six files and checked ours against every line.
7 of 7 checks passed, in all six Word files
MIT names Calibri and Georgia as fonts that are safe across platforms. Those are the two fonts in these files.
Quoted from MIT Career Advising & Professional Development and UC Berkeley Career Engagement. Neither university is connected to this product. They publish the guidance; we measured our files against it, and you can check both.
The questions worth asking before you buy.
Is this a service where someone writes my CV?
No. This is a self-service system. You edit the documents yourself. The templates are built and the wording is provided, but the experience on the page has to be yours. If you want someone to write it for you, this is the wrong product and we would rather you knew that now.
Can I do this on my phone?
Partly, and it is worth knowing before you pay. The nine guides, the sector wording and the tracker all read fine on a phone. The CV and the cover letter are Word documents, and editing those properly is much easier on a computer. A phone can open them, but controlling the formatting on a small screen is painful. A friend's laptop, a library, a school computer lab or an internet cafe is enough. If you have no way to reach a computer at all, this is not the right buy for you yet, and we would rather say so before you spend the money than after.
Why pay for this when there are free CV builders?
If one document today is all you need, a free builder may genuinely be enough. Use one. The difference here is what you keep afterwards: these are the Word files themselves, so you download them, edit them on your own computer, and reuse them for every job you apply to. No account, no monthly fee, nothing to renew. Behind the CV sit the cover letter, the references page, twelve sectors of ready wording, an interview guide and a tracker for a hundred applications. That is what you are paying for. If it is more than you need, the two free sectors on this site are yours either way.
What actually makes a CV readable by an applicant tracking system?
Structure, not decoration. The system reads the document into fields and a person reads what it managed to read, so anything that breaks reading order is the risk: tables, text boxes, images, sidebars and multi-column layouts. Pnet, MIT and UC Berkeley all publish the same list in public. These templates contain none of those constructs, which is the part a seller can actually control.
Will it get through the ATS?
No one can promise that, and anyone who does is guessing. What we can show you is the audit: the templates contain no tables, no text boxes, no images, no floating frames and no multi-column sections. That is the part a seller controls. How one specific employer's system behaves is not.
Which of the two designs should I pick?
Clean Minimal if you are unsure. It is the safer default and suits administration, public sector, retail and entry-level applications. Modern Professional carries a little more visual hierarchy and suits corporate, finance, marketing and sales roles. Both are single-column and structurally identical underneath. The difference is typographic, not architectural.
Do I need to buy Microsoft Word?
No. The six documents are .docx and open in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice. Google Docs is free and LibreOffice is free. The documents are set in Calibri and Georgia. If the machine you open them on does not have those fonts it substitutes the nearest match, and the spacing can move a little. The structure does not change, and the structure is the part that matters to the software reading your CV.
Is it really A4?
Yes, and it is checkable. The page size recorded inside each document is 11906 × 16838 twips, which is 210 × 297 mm exactly. All six files, no US Letter variants. This is a South African product and it is not a resized version of an American one.
What exactly is in the download?
Sixteen files. Six editable Word documents (two CVs, two cover letters, two reference pages), nine PDF guides totalling 54 pages, and one spreadsheet tracker with sixteen columns and room for 100 applications. All of it together is 0.67 MB, smaller than a single photo from your phone.
How do I get the files?
As a download after checkout. There is nothing to post, so no delivery address is needed. Checkout still asks for a billing address, because card payments require one. If a download will not open or a file is faulty, email us and we refund you in full.
Can I share it with a friend who is also job hunting?
The licence is for your own job search. Sharing, reselling or uploading the files is not permitted. We would rather say that plainly than bury it. If a friend needs it, point them at the two free sectors on this site, which are genuinely free and yours to pass on.
